Still...

Not much to say still, but I have loads-o-photos.  Enjoy, I demand it.

Oneonta Gorge is much smaller in person, but far more dangerous.  I fell in.

Water falls

I think I found the edge of the Earth, but I decided not to make sure.

If you don't have anything nice to say...

...then don't say anything at all.  I'm not very consistent lately, but here's something beautiful to look at.

The world is full of beautiful places; go see them.

Long Weekend

Hello!  I had a four day weekend and it was amazing.  The Lady Bean went to see her grand parents and I stayed home (and mostly in the yard).  I accomplished many 'yardie' things.  I even secretly built a tipi structure from some old fallen limbs and saw my very first swarm of bees... eep.  It's a bit unsettling.  Here's a video of what a swarm looks like.

 Now for the lawn stuff...

Yes, you've seen this; a photo from the day the window boxes went up.  I'll have new photos soon, but let's compare...

The front of the house a few weeks ago.

The front of the house (two years ago).
Different angle.  I still hate that Yucca, but it's long gone.
The back corner of the lawn on Sunday.

The same area two years ago after I removed a large pile of trash which included: a mattress, box springs, porch railing, various types of fence, glass, garbage, etc.  The mattress was growing things.  Ick.
Two years ago I bought a glider that matched the chairs on the front porch.  I bought it for 75% off and I had the perfect spot for it.  It would live in this corner (above photo; adjacent to my future, fabulous garden) surrounded by all the pink peonies that I had scavenged from Freecycle.  I had such great plans.  As you can tell from the more recent photo, that never quite happened.  The glider sat in the garage for two years.  I never even opened the box.  Oops.

Everything is different now though!  Amidst a swarm of bees, I put the glider together.  I have a few pillows to sew and then I'll take new photos and you'll  see my project that was two years in the planning is finally finished.  Woot!  Why do I put pillows on all of my outdoor seating?  I don't know!

Mini-Moons - Pre-Honeymoons

First, why is it called a honeymoon?...  Found it!  I won't be taking one of those.  I'll just vacation.

So, I'm putting the weirdness behind me, but the word "wedding" still feels dirty right now.  Also, during my time of newly wed contemplation, it occurred to me that brides don't do housework, wives do.  I'm serious though.  If you are doing the wedding (or whatever you call it) yourself and you work, have a child, go to school, anything, there's simply not enough time to do everything and that seems to be the easiest thing to let go.

Anyway, we don't leave for our actual vacation until August 7th.  We were planning around another schedule.  It turns out we didn't need to wait, but now everything set and not switchable.  Oh well, mini trips until then!  We took our first mini-moon last weekend.

We went to Clifty Falls State Park.  There are around 10 trails and 4 different waterfalls.  We only went to one, but it was hot and took a while to get to.  Given Indiana's current drought, I'm surprised that there were waterfalls at all, so woo hoo!  Not only was it my first trip to that park and first waterfall experience, but it was also our first bed and breakfast encounter.  It was good.  We stayed at the Iron Gate Inn with Steve.  Steve lives there.  Also, I love my Aura Que bag more every day.

Good times,

Glitterati

Life is getting busy and messy.  I spent many hours last weekend completing the final step of my "balloon add-ons / bits n baubles".  They are now complete.  212 pieces have been punched, primed, coated, and sealed; ready for stringing.  The last time I did a mass glittering was December so I was indoors.  That got icky, stinky, and messy so this glitter fest was located on the front porch.
